Add recipients
A Spark campaign needs people to send to. Add recipients in three ways: upload a CSV, type them in manually, or organise them into reusable groups. Sign in to app.brixus365.com, open Spark → Recipients, and click Import Contacts.
Where Recipients live
Inside Spark, the Recipients section in the left nav is where every contact you can email lives. Top of the page shows four counters at a glance:
Three actions sit in the top-right of the page:
- Manage Groups — create, rename, or delete the groups you’ll target campaigns at
- Import Contacts — open the import dialog (CSV or manual)
- Export CSV — download your recipients as a CSV (handy for backup, audits, or moving between accounts)
If your account is empty, the page invites you to Import Contacts with a button right in the empty state.
About Unsubscribed (All). This counter tracks recipients who have opted out of email marketing. Once someone unsubscribes, Brixus365 suppresses them automatically — they are skipped on every future campaign. Re-importing them later doesn’t override the suppression; it stays sticky. Hard-bounced addresses are tracked and excluded separately and do not affect this counter.
Upload a CSV
Click Import Contacts in the top-right (or in the empty state). The Import Recipients dialog opens with two tabs — Upload CSV on the left, Manual Entry on the right. Stay on Upload CSV.
Import Recipients
Add contacts via CSV upload or manual entry.
Imported recipients will be added to this group. Leave empty to skip.
email or phone. The CSV needs a header row as its first line. The minimum is one column — either email or phone. Beyond that, Brixus365 recognises:
| Column | Required? | What it does |
|---|---|---|
email | Yes (or phone) | The recipient address Spark sends email campaigns to. |
phone | Yes (or email) | Recipient phone number. Stored on the recipient record but not used by Spark email campaigns today. |
name | Optional | Recipient’s full name. Used for personalisation tokens like {{ first_name }} in templates. |
company | Optional | Recipient’s company / organisation. Available as a personalisation token. |
role | Optional | Recipient’s role / title. |
Click Download Template in the dialog for a starter CSV with the right header row. Open it in Excel, Google Sheets, or any text editor — fill in your rows, save, then upload.
The optional Add to group dropdown at the top of the dialog lets you drop everything you import into a single group in one step. Skip it if you just want them in the master list.
Click Import Contacts. The file uploads, Brixus365 validates each row, and the dashboard refreshes with the new recipients listed below.
A few helpful behaviours that kick in automatically on every CSV import:
- Most lists work in a single upload. Brixus365 imports up to 10,000 rows in one pass — split bigger lists into chunks and the master list grows with each upload.
- Duplicates are merged, not duplicated. If two rows in the same CSV share an email address, the first one wins. If a row’s email already exists in your account, the import updates the existing recipient (name, variables, group membership) instead of creating a second copy.
Add them manually
For quick test sends or a handful of contacts, switch to the Manual Entry tab. You get a row-by-row table with four columns: Name, Email, Phone, Variables (JSON).
Import Recipients
Add contacts via CSV upload or manual entry.
Add recipients one by one. Email or Phone is required for each entry.
Rules of the row:
- Every row must have either an Email or a Phone — Brixus365 rejects the import otherwise.
- Name is optional but recommended — without it, personalisation tokens like
{{ first_name }}fall back to a generic greeting. - Variables (JSON) is for custom personalisation. If your template uses
{{ plan }}, give Sara{"plan": "pro"}and Liam{"plan": "starter"}— Spark renders the right value per recipient.
Click + Add Recipient for an extra row. Clear All wipes the table. Add N Recipients at the bottom-right saves them.
Organise into groups
Once you have a few hundred recipients, you’ll want to slice them into groups — Newsletter subscribers, Paying customers, Webinar attendees April 2026 — so you can target campaigns precisely.
Click Manage Groups in the top-right. The Manage Recipient Groups dialog lists every group with member counts and creation dates. Search the list, hit + Create Group to add a new one, or click into a row to edit / delete.
Manage Recipient Groups
Create, edit, and delete recipient groups for targeted campaigns.
The recipient selection step in the campaign wizard (step 3 of Send your first email campaign) is where these groups pay off — you pick a saved group instead of re-uploading the same list every time.
